Everton hosts Manchester City in one of the most interesting games of the 21th round of the English Premier League. And once again the former teammates at Barcelona – Ronald Koeman and Josep Guardiola, will face each others like managers.

When Everton and City met for a first time this season, the game ended with a draw at the Ettihad Stadium. Now the Citizens are preparing themselves for an even more difficult test, because Everton are a really strong side at home ground.

There are some problems for Pep Guardiola before the visit to Liverpool. Ilkay Gundogan is out of action until the end of the season, while Fernandinho is suspended for three matches. The good news come from the condition of Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane, who are once again fit and ready to play.

Ronald Koeman will be without the services of Muhamed Besic, Yannick Bolasie and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who are all injured. Maarten Stekelenburg, James McCarthy and Aaron Lennon are all doubtful because of different problems.

After the losing the derby against Liverpool, Manchester City went back on the winning road against Burnley. The Blues started the new campaign very strongly under Pep Guardiola’s management, but a lot of wrong steps didn’t allow them to keep the first spot in the standings. Now Manchester City are 7 points behind Chelsea and Pep Guardiola is aware that his team needs as much consistency as possible.

Everton on the other hand is sitting comfortably at the 7th spot in the table. Koeman’s team is 11 points away from the Europa League spots, so it’s hard to think that they can achieve something more than a respectable finish of the season. But they remain a team to be reckoned with, so Manchester City should expect a really tough battle at the Goodison Park.
