Werder Bremen and Borussia Mönchengladbach are two teams who are underperforming in the German Bundesliga this season. Two historical teams in German football, who can’t find themselves since the beginning of the campaign. And now they will meet at the Weserstadion in Bremen.

Werder are just one point above the relegation zone in the Bundesliga, so these are going to be a few really tough months for Alexander Nouri’s team until the end of the season. Werder didn’t win neither one of its last five games in the league, having lost three in a row – against Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Augsburg. They have won just four games since the start of the campaign, having scored just 24 goals in 19 matches.

Borussia Mönchengladbach on the other hand are not performing at the expected level, after they qualified for the Champions League last season. Now Borussia are 11th in the league standings and they are most likely missing out on European football next season. Although Dieter Hecking’s boys showed glimpses of revival, winning their last two games against Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg, but they still remain too far from the top of the table.

Against Borussia M’gladbach Werder will be without the services of Jaroslav Drobny, who is suspended for the game. Izet Hajrovic is still injured, while Claudio Pizarro, Niklas Moisander, Philipp Bargfrede and Janek Sternberg are doubtful for the match. The good news for Alexander Nouri come from the recovery of Florian Grillitsch and Diagne Fallou, who are once again fit and ready to play.

Borussia Mönchengladbach will have to deal with the absence of the suspended Lars Stindl and the injured Alvaro Dominguez. Thimothée Kolodziejczak recovered from his ankle injury and he’s ready to participate, but Jonas Hofmann, Raffael, Djibril Sow, Mamadou Doucoure, Ibrahima Traoré and Marvin Schulz remain doubtful for the visit to Bremen.
